Overview

The Khumbu region has the most dramatic and stunning mountain scenery in the world and trekkers don’t need to go all the way to Everest Base Camp OR Gokyo Ri for the best views of the surrounding Himalayas. The area is easily accessible with flights making possible to reach the heart of the mountains within a few days.

This lodge-based family trek begins at a leisurely pace, allowing plenty of time to sit back and enjoy the sensational mountain views and the company of Sherpa hosts and insight into their cultures and lives. You spend two days in Kathmandu, relaxing and sightseeing the mystical shrines and temples of this magical city before you take a spectacular flight to Lukla the gateway to the Everest region, OR the starting point of your trek.  In the beginning the trek route passes through arable fields and the forested hillsides with pine and rhododendron trees along with the view of soaring peaks like; Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru before you arrive into the famous town of Namche Bazaar that is nestled on a hillside with many mountains around. It is a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar (3446m), the capital of the famous Khumbu though it is worth-while as you are rewarded with spectacular mountain vistas when you get there.

We take a rest day here to acclimatize before heading further up and there is option of taking short walks towards Thami Valley OR nearby national park museum. From Namche we take the trail to Khumjung via the ridge above Namche and while on trail the views of Everest, the Lhotse-Nuptse Wall, Ama Dablam, Kantega, Thamserku and Kwangde dominate this peaceful location making the places one of the most tranquil and inspiring in the world. We retrace the same trail on our journey back to the Lukla from where we take a flight back to Kathmandu ending this memorable trip.
